Auto-Start Wireless System technology (AWS) utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor (all sold separately). The AWS Transmitter (198501-5) is designed to be inserted into a AWS-capable Makita Product to connect the tool to the dust extractor.

Makita takes another step toward a truly cordless job site with Auto-Start Wireless System. AWS uses Bluetooth technology for wireless power-on and power-off communication between the equipped tool and dust extractor. AWS is intelligent communication that eliminates cords and excessive noise since the dust extractor runs only when trigger-activated by an AWS tool. When the trigger is released, the dust extractor powers-down.

AWS-capable products include select demolition hammers, rotary hammers, surfacing planer, drywall sander, miter saws, angle grinders, and more.
